US/Japan Creative Artists Residency

For the US/Japan Creative Artists Residency Grant Award, each artist will receive:

  • a monthly stipend of 400,000 yen for living expenses, 100,000 yen a month as a housing supplement, and up to 100,000 yen a month for professional support services. (While the yen value may fluctuate against the dollar, applicants should be assured that these funds will cover the cost of living and working in Japan.)
  • a total of up to $6,000 for round-trip transportation for the artist, domestic partner and / or unmarried children (up to age 18) and a baggage/storage allowance, and any pre-departure Japanese language study in the United States.

The Frost Place Resident Poet Award

Benefits of the Frost Place Resident Poet Award: The residency begins July 1st and ends August 31st, and includes an award of $1,000. The Resident Poet will have an opportunity to give a series of public readings across the region and will join a faculty of renowned guest poets in giving a craft talk, workshop, and reading as part of The Frost Place’s annual Festival and Conference of Poetry, for which an additional $1,000 will be paid.

Location: The historic homestead of poet Robert Frost in Franconia, New Hampshire.

Eligibility requirements: Individuals who have published at least one book of poetry are eligible.
